‘The Tigon and the Liger is destined to become a new classic and is a book every child should grow up reading.’ – First News
'I think it’s important that everyone knows it’s good to be different. The world would be so boring if everyone was exactly alike! This is a really sweet story about being exactly who you are.’ – Shreya (Age 7), Kids Book Buzz
This is a great read on a base level -- in that the factual content on ligers and tigons is of value on its own (and very appealing for kids obsessed with all things animal) -- but then there's the added nuanced layers of messages and beauty to enjoy.
From the get-go, I loved this book’s message. A must-read for any third-culture kid or anyone struggling with identity between cultures. Bought another almost immediately as a gift 💗
As a new mum, I became very aware of wanting to make sure my child grows up celebrating and feeling proud of his mixed race background. I want to thank Lantana for coming out with this special book!
This is a fabulous rhyming story which encourages children to love the skin they’re in and is a book you will want to read over and over again. The illustrations bring this story to life and help you visualise what a tigon and liger look like.
