Have a story to tell?

At Lantana, we do things a little differently. Check out our submissions process below.

What do we publish?

If you look on our books page, you'll see that we've arranged our books into eight 'collections'. These collections showcase what we really care about.  If you have a story that fits into one of these collections, we'd love to hear from you.

We're looking for short picture book texts for 4-6 year olds (usually no more than 500 words) or slightly longer non-fiction texts for 7-11 year olds.

Who do we want to hear from?

We're committed to opening up a space for diverse voices so we particularly want to hear from authors and illustrators of BAME (Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic) heritage.

What should I submit?

For authors: Please send us your full manuscript.
For illustrators: Please send us your portfolio & a link to your website.
For author-illustrators: Please send us your complete book dummy.

How should I submit my work?

There are three steps to submitting a manuscript to Lantana:

1) Sign up for our newsletter (we want to see your commitment!).

2) Write the name of the collection your manuscript fits into in the subject heading of your email.

3) Send your submission to: submissions@lantanapublishing.com.

What happens next?

We would love to respond to every submission we receive but unfortunately the volume is just too high. If your manuscript has caught our eye, we'll be in touch within 12 weeks to tell you the good news.

If you haven't heard from us by then, please assume we aren't able to take your story through to publication.

We value every submission.  Good luck!
