The gnarled tree on the hill sometimes turns into a pirate ship. A rope serves as an anchor, a sheet as a sail, and Sam is its fearless captain. But one day another sailor approaches, and he’s not from Sam’s street. Can they find something more precious than diamonds and gold? Can they find…friendship?

      A wonderful story of friendship

The Pirate Tree is a wonderful uplifting story of a boy called Agu who has moved to the area and is struggling to find any friends. He meets a child called Sam pretending a tree is a pirate ship but unfortunately Sam doesn't want to play with him. That is untill Agu reveals he has been on a ship and can share his experiences of his travel and his homeland. They soon become good friends and their imagination runs away with them.

Great for kids of all ages

A beautiful tale of friendship. It is encouraging kids to accept things/cultures/people that are different from theirs. Stuning illustrations are just a cherry on the top. 😁

      A wonderful and heartwarming read!

'The Pirate Tree' is a beautiful tale of friendship, acceptance, adventure, and imagination. This story is truly uplifting and relevant for today - it follows girl pirate captain Sam as she meets her new neighbour from Nigeria, Agu! The friendship they form is heartwarming - it encourages children of all ages to be more mindful and open to different cultures and to make friends from different places and cultures! My favourite part was when Agu corrects Sam assumptions about Nigeria - Sam genuinely wants to know more! Also, I adored the eye-catching illustrations. This is a fabulous picture book!
