This book is very poetic in both the text and illustrations. What I love is that it can be read on so many levels and leaves space for a child to make their own sense of it. To be read again and again!
Shadow discusses a difficult topic but one that children are often faced with, either as something they experience themselves or when an adult in their lives is going through a dark period. I found the story touching and I was particularly charmed by the moody and beautiful illustrations.
A touching but at the same time thought-provoking story that demonstrates how connection and communication have the power to break barriers and discover light within the darkness. With stunning and evocative artwork, this is a must-have book for any reader, both young and old.
Despite its icy setting, 'Shadow' melted my heart (and I'm sure it will melt yours too!). It is a thought-provoking tale about the magic that can happen when we quite literally face our inner demons. In a world that demands we always pick a side, this book will show adults and kids alike the power of collaboration and why, at the end of the day, every shadow needs a little light.
