Finding one's true self is a message for young ones to learn. The narrative made me imagine Kaya's own beat is a sullen staccato that builds to a lively chant that is moving. Kids will be delighted with the colorful illustrations too.
I love the way this book introduces meditation and mindfulness in a way that is easy for kids (and adults!) to understand! Its whimsical illustrations—especially those of the carousel—are a delight as well.
