The profile shows how both Syrian and British children have used the book as a springboard to explore their experience and understanding of conflict. Nadine tells BBC World, “The first question I asked when I read the story to Syrian kids is, ‘Do you know why I named the story Tomorrow?’ They immediately answer because they know tomorrow will be better”.

Nadine also reflects on the potential impact of reaching new audiences. “I’m happy to have my story published in the UK because it’s really going to change some of the perspectives that the West and the UK have about Syria. People often have only one image – which is a desert.”
